KANSAS CITY, MO – The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) is partnering with the Atlantic East Conference.

“We are thrilled to partner with NACE, the leading organization in the collegiate esports space, and to offer a unique opportunity for Atlantic East institutions and students to participate outside of the traditional sports arena for a Conference championship,” said Atlantic East Commissioner Jessica Huntley. “NACE has been instrumental in providing education and support for many of our newly established esports programs. We are thankful to NACE for the opportunity to be one of the first conferences to partner with the organization and look forward to paving a new path in the future of esports.”

The Atlantic East Conference, founded in 2018, serves seven full member institutions and four affiliate member institutions. To help develop its newly established esports programs, the Atlantic East Conference is looking for opportunities to expand its involvement within the esports space.

In the spring of 2021, NACE will partner with Atlantic East to provide opportunities for its esports programs by hosting events, assisting with the broadcasting of competition, and providing information pertaining to competitive esports standards and practices to esports programs within the Atlantic East Conference.

“NACE has always been a champion of institutions establishing official esports programs on campus and has made tremendous progress with institutions of all levels from Division I to Division III institutions.  The next evolution of NACE is to provide the resources and structure for our members to regionalize competition and engagement for the further development of esports, taking what is best from traditional athletics into collegiate esports,” said Michael Brooks, Executive Director of NACE. “We are excited to bring on our first cadre of conferences as we look to quickly expand this next phase of growth.”

The Atlantic East Conference will be competing in Rocket League this spring season.
