The purpose of the USC Sumter eSports program is to promote the education and development of students through intercollegiate eSports participation.  The program’s goal is to provide a competitive environment for students to participate in a variety of games across the intercollegiate landscape.  While providing competitive goals and aspirations, “the student” is the center of the program.  The development of eSports skills is paramount, but the development of the diverse student is the most important aspect of the program.  This diversity shows among many aspects of the student’s growth, such as: teamwork, camaraderie, sportsmanship, time management, responsibilities in regard to social presence and educational standards, and developing skills to compete in a competitive environment (locally, nationally and globally).
