NACE Presents Their First Collegiate CS:GO Tournament for Spring 2019

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – January 14, 2018 – The National Association of Collegiate Esports will be holding a collegiate Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament for the Spring 2019 semester in partnership with Skillshot. This will be an entirely online tournament beginning on March 26, 2019 and running until April 27, 2019. Registration is open to both member and non-member NACE schools, and will be open through March 15, 2019.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with NACE in providing esports competition for college students,” said Todd Harris, President of Skillshot. “We see first hand the value universities and students realize by adopting formal esports programs and working with NACE.”

The 2019 NACE CS:GO Collegiate Championship will be hosted on the Toornament platform. This is the second semester that NACE has utilized this platform for collegiate competition. All registration, scheduling, and information will be placed on the Toornament website.

The format will be as follows:

  • Sixteen team round-robin style pool play
  • Four pools of four teams will play each other double round-robin style
  • Top two teams will move on from each pool into the playoffs
  • The eight teams in the playoffs will be seeded according to win/loss record
  • Playoffs will be single elimination
  • All matches, including Championship, will be held online remotely
  • The Championship will be held on April 27, 2019
