NACE Now Hiring for the Position of Esports Championship Events Coordinator

The National Association of Collegiate Esports is accepting applications for a Esports Championship Events Coordinator.

This is a full-time position that is in direct contact with NACE membership through managing NACE national championships and the esports coaches association.  This person will be positive, professional and have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.  The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) is a nonprofit membership association organized by and on behalf of our member institutions and is the only governing body of college esports in North America. This employee will be expected to:

• Represent a national organization of 170+ colleges and universities

• Be the primary contact for regular season and national championship events

• Be a self-starter with strong organizational skills

• Be a liaison to various NACE coaches committees and coaching bodies as assigned

• Travel 10 to 20 days per year

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Competition Management:

• Organize and supervise 10 to 15 of our competition esports (and special events) with close collaboration with NACE managers and directors to ensure a positive experience that exceeds student-athlete, member and fans expectations.  These administrative duties include;

-Team registrations

-Tournament seeding

-Managing tournament brackets

-Supervising game day activities

-Resolving competition related disputes

• Coordinate game day production logistics which includes coaches meetings, student-athlete experiences, streaming, awards; etc.

• Primary point of contact for NACE team, host city and officials during championships

• Collaborate with hosts to ensure a successful experience

• Responsible for individual championship budgets

• Develop, update and distribute tournament information (ie, schedule, logistics, platform, streaming)

• Collaborate with other NACE departments, including Marketing and Memberships to ensure the successful launch and conclusion of NACE competition

• Collaborate with partner publishers to successfully market and schedule NACE competition

• Other competition department responsibilities as assigned

Membership Management:

• Respond to member inquiries through the NACE Discord to support member institutions Requirements

Skills & Qualifications:

• Associate degree required

• Bachelor degree preferred

• A strong passion for esports, the esports community and video games

• Previous experience working in the collegiate or high school esports is preferred

• At least a year of online leagues and/or esports competition is preferred

• Professional experience with competitive gaming, pro-gaming, ladders, and tournaments

• Organized, extremely detail-focused, and driven to consistently meet project deadlines

• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

• Understands resource limitations and able to communicate challenges

• Self-motivated and able to multitask effectively

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills

• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Discord, Twitch and online competitive platforms

• Ability to travel for events as needed.
