NACE Announce CSGO Competition

KANSAS CITY, MO, 16 January, 2020 – The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE), has announced open registration in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) for NACE institutions, the association’s second year of championship competition combining institutions across the United States and Canada.
“After a successful first yer of competition in CSGO, we are excited to offer a second, season this spring. We expect this season will include many more institutions in competition and hope to this culminates in another epic championship match as it did last year,” said Michael Brooks, Executive Director of NACE.
CSGO competition will be hosted by FACEIT with competition running from February 19th till May 24th, 2020. Members can register their teams on the FACEIT platform here. The Competition Council will assign registered teams into groups based on best available competitive data.

About the National Association of Collegiate Esports
The National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) is a nonprofit membership association organized by and on behalf of member institutions with varsity esports programs and is the only governing body across college esports in North America. NACE develops the structure and tools needed to advance collegiate esports in the varsity space. NACE collaborates with stakeholders to lay the groundwork in areas such as: Eligibility, Path to Graduation, and Competition & Scholarships. NACE currently has 203 varsity esports programs as members, accounting for nearly all (90%) varsity programs across North America.
Currently NACE requires all active member institutions to be fully accredited by an authorized higher educational accrediting agencies relative to their region and/or national affiliations. Secondly NACE requires all members to have varsity programs on campus. A varsity program is any that recruits students specifically to play esports, provides scholarships, provides a dedicated esports arena/practice area, provides equipment necessary to facilitate competition, and provides faculty/staff to facilitate and administer their esports program.

To start the registration process, head over to the registration portal on FACEIT. You’ll first create an account, if you don’t have one already, create a team, then register your team. If you have any questions with the registration process, you can contact NACE directly at info@nacesports.org or message on the NACE Discord.
Registration is open until February 1st at 11:59pm PT.
