The 2019 NACE CS:GO Collegiate Championship Expands Registration

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – January 28, 2018 – The National Association of Collegiate Esports has updated their collegiate Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament for the Spring 2019 semester, which is being operated in partnership with Skillshot. The tournament is an entirely online tournament beginning on March 26, 2019 and running until April 27, 2019.

The registration cap is being increased to thirty-two teams as a result of higher than expected interest. Registration is open to member NACE schools through March 1, 2019. If the registration cap is not met by member NACE schools, non-member schools will be allowed to register through March 15, 2019. Non-member schools who have already registered will be allowed to remain in the tournament.

The format is as follows, with changes italicized:

  • Thirty-two team round-robin style pool play
  • Eight pools of four teams will play each other double round-robin style
  • Top two teams will move on from each pool into the playoffs
  • The sixteen teams in the playoffs will be seeded according to win/loss record
  • Playoffs will be single elimination
  • All matches, including Championship, will be held online remotely
  • The Championship will be held on April 27, 2019
