You can submit ITCs through the year, it’s just that your players aren’t eligible until we have them.

What if I have a question not listed in this FAQ?

Message an EEC Member in Discord (Purple Names) or email us at eec@nacesports.org.

What happens if a student leaves my school, can they still play at another school?

If students are to leave an institution, they must have their Intent to Compete Form voided from the institution that the student is leaving, or they cannot play. This only applies if they are leaving in the middle of a school year.

If the student is leaving at the end of a school year, they can sign with another school for the next year as long as they are not on any disciplinary action relating towards esports.

What are exceptions to eligibility as it relates to the numbers of years a student is eligible?

Students are eligible for five years after signing their initial Intent to Compete form. Eligibility can be frozen for military or medical reasons. Exception request for eligibility should be sent to a member of the Eligibility Enforcement Committee. Email them to eec@nacesports.org.

These exemptions are listed in Article XII, Section A of the NACE Bylaws.

Can my student participate in their final semester as a senior? They probably won’t have 12 credits.

There is a senior status exemption to allow for seniors in their last semester/term to not need full time student status. This is listed in the bylaws under Article XII, Section A, 3.

This does not account for seniors who are not full time in their semester/term directly before their graduating semester/term.

What happens if my student drops a class and goes below full-time status at my institution?

The student will be ineligible for NACE Competition.

What is an ITC, why is it useful?

An ITC is an Intent to Compete form. This form is an agreement between an institution and a student to help protect both the student and the institution from not upholding the items outlined in the agreement. A walkthrough on how to fill the document out can be found at https://nacesports.org/eligibility-enforcement-committee-documents/.

This document also protects from poaching among NACE Institutions as students are listed on the roster for the institution a student has signed with. For a full description of an ITC, please see Article VI in the NACE Bylaws.

When is an ITC Due?

An ITC has a rolling due date. For a student to be eligible to compete, the ITC must be done prior to the day of competition. This allows for continuous recruitment and roster changes through a season.

What titles are being offered in the Fall and Spring?

Please contact the Competition Council within Discord. They have all information relating to competition.

When are the registration dates for competition?

Please contact the Competition Council within Discord. They have all information relating to competition.

If players that have signed an ITC leave the program or school before the end of the semester or end of the academic year, does anything need to be done with their ITC? Does the EEC or NACE need to be notified?

The ITC doesn’t get removed. that player is not allowed to play for another NACE institution until the following season. Unless, the school voids the ITC to allow the student to switch to another team.

If reached out to by a student that an institution does not have any intention of recruiting, do you still need to report it to their director if they have a signed ITC?

Yes. Contact them to cover your bases.

What happens if some of my players signed an ITC, but now they will no longer will be at the university for this upcoming academic year, due to VISA issues or other problems?

The ITC will be voided upon request to the EEC.
